Job summary

Just Eat Takeaway.com in London or Amsterdam is seeking an experienced Python Application Developer with DevOps to join the Platform Engineering team. You will build engineer-facing tools, scale services, and contribute to cloud infrastructure and automation in a hybrid setup.

You'll work across global teams, applying SOLID and DRY principles, driving performance, reliability and high availability in a SaaS environment, while embracing Agile practices and rapid learning.

Qualifications

• Experience in production environments as a Software Developer or DevOps/Platform Engineer.
• Strong Python development and design pattern knowledge (SOLID, DRY).
• Expertise in AWS or similar cloud providers, containerization and Kubernetes.
• Deep understanding of RESTful or GraphQL APIs and development.
• Experience with Git and CI/CD tooling (GitHub Actions, GitLab, Argo CD, Azure DevOps).
• Experience monitoring systems in production (ELK, Grafana, Prometheus, Datadog, CloudWatch).
• Strong drive for performance testing and high availability.
• Strong knowledge of web architecture and debugging complex code.
• Collaborative, global-team mindset and willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Plan and develop new engineer-facing products and features.
• Build robust and scalable software components and services using Python.
• Design and manage cloud infrastructure and automation for high availability.
• Optimize applications to maximize speed and scalability.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, including runbooks.
• Collaborate with global team members and stakeholders.
• Participate in Agile teams and contribute to a fast-paced environment.
• Support and maintain high availability within a SaaS environment.
