Client Server Limited is seeking a Python Developer/Engineer to join a Hedge Fund in London. You will build and optimise a data platform, focusing on data quality, reliability, ETL and microservices.

Expect collaboration across code reviews and a robust CI/CD workflow in a dynamic, data-driven environment. You will design scalable data systems, manage databases, and support operational health while contributing to logs, monitoring and observability.

Job description

Python Developer / Engineer (SQL ETL) London to £150k+

Are you a data savvy Python Developer?

You could be joining a Hedge Fund with complex work and substantial bonus earning potential.

As a Python Developer you will develop and optimise the data platform, maintaining high standards across design, implementation, testing and CI/CD. You'll focus on data quality and operational reliability while enhancing a range of existing technologies, including microservices, ETL processes and Excel add-ins, working collaboratively through code reviews and shared problem solving.

You'll also improve the underlying software infrastructure, including Infrastructure as Code, disaster recovery and observability. This will involve managing logs, alerts and monitoring, supporting Windows and Linux servers, resolving network and system issues, and maintaining databases through backups and replication.

Alongside development, you'll support the ongoing operation of the platform, monitoring system health, carrying out regular checks and troubleshooting issues to maintain reliability. You'll provide technical support to users and respond to ad hoc queries and requests, helping ensure the platform remains stable, resilient and effective.

Location / WFH:

You'll join colleagues in the impressive Central London office on a fulltime basis, Monday to Friday.

About you:

• You have strong backend development experience with Python
• You have experience of working with financial or market data
• You have experience of designing and operating data-intensive and distributed systems
• You have a strong knowledge of databases (Relational, NoSQL and Columnar)
• You're keen to take ownership and work across the full development lifecycle
• You're collaborative and pragmatic with strong stakeholder management skills
• You have achieved a 2.1 or above in a STEM discipline, likely to have studied to MSc
