Job Title: Python Developer – (MQ, Automation)

Location: London/Sheffield - 2-3 days/Week Onsite

Duration: 6+ Months

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Python Developer to join a dynamic technology team focused on critical messaging platforms. The ideal candidate will possess strong Python coding skills, solid Linux fundamentals, and a deep understanding of CI/CD automation practices. Familiarity with messaging products like MQ or ACE will be a significant advantage.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain backend solutions using Python.
• Work in a Linux environment and perform Shell scripting as required.
• Manage code repositories and collaboration workflows using GitHub.
• Design, implement, and support CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins.
• Support applications involving messaging products such as MQ or ACE.
• Engage with stakeholders, adapt to evolving requirements, and handle ambiguity confidently.
• Communicate technical solutions effectively to cross-functional teams.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Hands-on experience in Python development.
• Proficiency in Linux and Shell scripting.
• Experience with GitHub for source control and collaboration.
• Understanding of CI/CD concepts, especially Jenkins.
• Experience with messaging products like IBM MQ or ACE is preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work in Agile environments.
• Excellent communication skills to explain technical details clearly.

Nice to Have:

• Knowledge of Ansible for automation.
