My client, a prestigious systematic hedge fund rapidly expanding in Europe, is seeking an experienced Python Developer to join a critical London team.

You will be joining the Platform Engineering team, a specialised technology group that bridges the gap between the investment and technology functions. This team plays a critical role in supporting portfolio managers by setting up and optimising their Python environments to streamline research, development, and implementation processes. Working closely with the Head of Technology, portfolio managers, and traders, you will help build and enhance the firm’s Python infrastructure, directly influencing the efficiency and performance of the trading strategies.

This is a rare opportunity to join a rapidly expanding global fund during its early stages of growth. As a critical hire, you will have significant exposure to senior leadership and the potential to fast-track into a senior position due to the firm’s ongoing expansion.

Key Responsibilities will include:

• Collaborating with portfolio managers, traders, and quantitative researchers to establish and optimise Python environments.
• Developing and implementing tools for business-critical front-office applications.
• Taking ownership of technical projects with a focus on increasing automation and operational efficiency.
• Supporting the integration of various tasks across the business, such as the implementation of a central risk infrastructure.
• Working closely with Quantitative, Finance, and Trading teams to deliver tailored technical solutions.
• Embracing a hands-on approach, actively contributing to problem-solving and product development.

A successful candidate will have an in-depth and excellent understanding of Python and come from a finance background.
