This role reports to Lead Python Developer.

We're looking for a multi-skilled, adaptable developer with a passion for high-quality code to join our established development team.

Responsibilities of the role

• Work on web services driving Global Player and our public-facing radio websites, attracting over 30 million visitors monthly.
• Develop APIs and tools for mobile apps and devices like Alexa and Google Home.
• Maintain internal editorial and content systems that support our public-facing products.

What you will need

The ideal candidate should be proactive and innovative, capable of:

• Being a multi-skilled developer willing to learn new technologies.
• Strong experience with Python development.
• Good understanding of OOP fundamentals and RESTful APIs.
• Familiarity with version control systems, preferably Git.
• Experience working in a sociable, cross-functional team.
• Dedication to testing, including writing and maintaining unit tests and mocking frameworks, with enthusiasm for TDD.
• Experience with relational databases and ORM frameworks.
• Understanding of Continuous Integration practices.

Bonus points for experience with:

• Frameworks like Django, Flask, or Sanic.
• GraphQL.
• Asyncio.
• Scaling web systems for millions of users.
• Agile practices.
• Docker in development.
• AWS and Kubernetes.
• ElasticSearch or similar search servers.
