Job summary

Orbis Group is seeking a Software / Data Engineer with strong Python (Pandas) to join a Hedge Fund on a major modernisation programme. You will own end-to-end data systems and help build the next generation of reporting and analytics platforms.

The role involves building production data systems in Python, extending reporting platforms, and designing ETL pipelines to transform operational data into trusted reporting layers.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in both Software and Data Engineering positions using Python including Pandas in a high-performance environment.
• Excellent ETL development, data modelling and database/schema design.
• Hands-on experience with ClickHouse as well as Postgres, DuckDB, or Snowflake.
• Experience with TDD and CI/CD as standard working practice.

Responsibilities

• Building and owning end-to-end production data systems in Python whilst helping to lead a data technology modernisation initiative
• Building and extending risk, treasury, trade and position reporting platforms used across the business
• Designing ETL pipelines and data models converting operational data into clean, trusted reporting layers
