Join our team – SEN Teaching Assistant Wanted!

Bournemouth, Dorset |Term-time only| ASAP Start/September

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Psychology Graduates to join our dynamic team as a Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistants. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in supporting students with a range of additional needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, Speech, Language, and Communication Needs (SLCN), and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges.

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with experienced educators and therapists to provide tailored support to students, fostering an inclusive and nurturing learning environment. Your contributions will be instrumental in helping students achieve their full potential academically, socially, and emotionally.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide individual and small group support to students with SEN, helping them grow both academically and personally.
  • Work closely with teachers and SEN specialists to deliver tailored learning strategies and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Support students in building social skills and emotional resilience through structured, compassionate interventions.
  • Help create and adapt learning materials to suit a range of needs, ensuring every student can access the curriculum.
  • Track and reflect on student progress, sharing insights with teachers and families to celebrate growth and guide next steps.
  • Take part in ongoing training and development, deepening your knowledge of SEN best practices and inclusive education.

Ideal Candidate

  • Hold a degree in Psychology or a closely related field (2:1 or higher).
  • Demonstrate a genuine passion for working with children and young people with SEN.
  • Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Exhibit patience, empathy, and adaptability in diverse situations.
  • Have a proactive approach and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
  • Previous experience in an educational or care setting is desirable but not essential.
  • Competitive daily rate of £90
