Job summary

AWD online in Birkenhead, England, is seeking a Production Operative to join a busy manufacturing team. You will learn PVC processing, operate specialist machinery, and support the preparation of PVC components while maintaining a clean, safe working environment.

The role requires practical manual skills, reliability, and a willingness to cross-train in other areas. Working hours are Monday to Friday, 8am–5pm, with onsite parking and a pension scheme offered.

Responsibilities

• Prepare PVC Materials: Cut, prepare and process PVC materials in line with engineering drawings and production instructions.
• Operate Production Machinery: Use CNC cutting equipment and other machinery safely and in line with training.
• Maintain Quality Standards: Meet daily production and quality standards within the work area.
• Follow Safe Working Procedures: Adhere to SOPs and health and safety procedures at all times.
• Check Machinery: Carry out routine machinery checks and report faults.
• Control Materials: Use materials efficiently and minimise scrap.
• Maintain Records: Complete accurate production documentation as required.
• Support Team Working: Collaborate with colleagues across production areas.
• Keep Work Areas Organised: Preserve cleanliness and ISO9001:2015 standards.
• Support Improvement: Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
