Job summary

Epwin Group plc in Scunthorpe seeks a seasoned Process Improvement Lead for PVC extrusion and raw materials. You will run production trials, analyse data, coordinate with suppliers, and resolve production issues to cut costs and times.

You will manage materials processing, mixing, and granulation areas, presenting performance data and action plans to senior management. Strong leadership and troubleshooting are essential.

Qualifications

• Extensive hands-on PVC extrusion or polymer processing experience.
• Strong troubleshooting and methodical problem-solving skills.
• Ability to interpret technical data to guide decisions.
• Independent judgment within defined parameters and timely decisions.
• Experience engaging suppliers and coordinating trials.
• Ability to coach others on best practices and train staff.
• Proficient with MS Word, Excel, Access; quick to learn new software.
• Proactive, able to work under supervision and use own initiative.
• Assertive to ensure procedures are followed and compliant.
• Able to explain processes and train colleagues.
• Identify cost-saving measures and drive improvements.

Responsibilities

• Lead process improvements in PVC extrusion and raw materials.
• Run production trials, analyse data, and resolve issues.
• Manage materials processing, mixing plant, and granulation areas.
• Present performance data and action plans to senior teams.
• Coach and mentor technicians and operators on best practices.
• Collaborate with suppliers to explore materials, tooling, and enhancements.
• Lead extrusion trials including setup, monitoring and evaluation.
• Troubleshoot technical issues with production teams to minimise downtime.
• Analyse process data and present findings and recommendations.
• Develop improvements to reduce scrap, boost line efficiency and product quality.
• Maintain detailed technical records of trials and changes.
• Drive continuous improvement and operational excellence on the shop floor.
• Ensure all process changes are validated and quality compliant.
