PV Solar Design Engineer - 12‑Month Contract (Inside IR35)
Day Rate: Competitive (inside IR35)
Location: Home‑based with regular UK travel

We are seeking an experienced PV Solar Design Engineer to join a rapidly growing B2B energy‑solutions team on a 12‑month contract. You will play a vital role in supporting the UK's transition to net zero by delivering high‑quality SolarPV designs for commercial and industrial clients. Working remotely with regular travel, you will collaborate closely with Sales, Project Management and Installation teams to produce bespoke solar solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the full design process for rooftop and ground‑mounted PV systems.

  • Produce detailed designs, including shading analysis, 3D modelling, single‑line diagrams and layout drawings using AutoCAD.

  • Run performance simulations and yield predictions with PV*SOL or PVSyst.

  • Recommend system improvements and components in partnership with supply‑chain teams.

  • Support DNO G99 applications and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and CDM duties.

  • Communicate effectively with internal teams and clients throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Ensure all work meets quality, safety and procedural standards.

Essential Skills & Experience
  • Proven track record designing commercial and industrial PV schemes.

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, PV*SOL/PVSyst and Microsoft Office.

  • Sound knowledge of electrical standards, HSSE legislation and CDM regulations.

  • Familiarity with major PV components and manufacturers.

  • Experience handling G99 applications.

  • Full UK driving licence.

Desirable
  • Degree or HNC in Engineering (or equivalent).

  • Knowledge of LV and HV works associated with PV projects.

  • Strong commercial awareness of project cost impacts.

  • Location: Home‑based with UK travel
