Location: Remote (UK or EU Based)
A leading renewable energy project is seeking an experienced PV Solar Design Engineer to take a technical lead on a range of solar projects. This role offers full remote working and involvement in diverse rooftop and ground-mounted PV schemes.
Key Responsibilities:
Review and approve solar PV designs, recommending improvements to optimise efficiency, performance, and quality.
Lead the development of full PV system designs, including shading analysis, 3D modelling, single-line diagrams, panel schedules, and connection diagrams using AutoCAD.
Apply engineering judgement to specify parts and components for solar projects.
Communicate clearly with clients to ensure complete understanding of design proposals and system specifications.
Ensure designs meet regulatory requirements, health & safety standards, and best industry practices.
Prepare detailed design documentation for small wiring, containment systems, as-built drawings, scaffolding, and fall arrest systems.
Support planning of grid connection applications (including G99 submissions).
Maintain accurate documentation and design records throughout the project lifecycle.
Requirements:
Minimum 7-10 years’ experience in PV solar design (rooftop and ground-mounted projects).
Extensive knowledge of PV manufacturers and system components.
Strong understanding of HSSE, construction, services installation, and CDM responsibilities.
Proficient in AutoCAD, PV*SOL, MS Office, and other relevant design and modelling software.
Willingness and ability to adopt new software tools as required.
Familiarity with UK and EU regulations, legislation, and design standards.
Experience with G99 application processes.
Full UK/EU driving licence.
