Job Title: PV Solar Design Engineer (Remote)
Location: Remote (UK or EU Based)

A leading renewable energy project is seeking an experienced PV Solar Design Engineer to take a technical lead on a range of solar projects. This role offers full remote working and involvement in diverse rooftop and ground-mounted PV schemes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review and approve solar PV designs, recommending improvements to optimise efficiency, performance, and quality.

• Lead the development of full PV system designs, including shading analysis, 3D modelling, single-line diagrams, panel schedules, and connection diagrams using AutoCAD.

• Apply engineering judgement to specify parts and components for solar projects.

• Communicate clearly with clients to ensure complete understanding of design proposals and system specifications.

• Ensure designs meet regulatory requirements, health & safety standards, and best industry practices.

• Prepare detailed design documentation for small wiring, containment systems, as-built drawings, scaffolding, and fall arrest systems.

• Support planning of grid connection applications (including G99 submissions).

• Maintain accurate documentation and design records throughout the project lifecycle.

Requirements:

• Minimum 7-10 years’ experience in PV solar design (rooftop and ground-mounted projects).

• Extensive knowledge of PV manufacturers and system components.

• Strong understanding of HSSE, construction, services installation, and CDM responsibilities.

• Proficient in AutoCAD, PV*SOL, MS Office, and other relevant design and modelling software.

• Willingness and ability to adopt new software tools as required.

• Familiarity with UK and EU regulations, legislation, and design standards.

• Experience with G99 application processes.

• Full UK/EU driving licence.
