As the Purple Team and Threat Intelligence Manager, you will be at the forefront of defending Marks & Spencer against cyber threats, adversary simulations, and emerging risks. You will lead both offensive and defensive security initiatives, ensuring proactive assessment and enhancement of our security controls. Your role will involve working closely with key stakeholders across the business, ensuring M&S remains resilient against sophisticated cyber threats.

What you'll do
  • Lead the Purple Team function, designing and executing adversary emulation and collaborative Red vs. Blue team exercises to improve detection and response capabilities.
  • Oversee Threat Intelligence operations, leveraging commercial and open-source intelligence sources to detect, analyse, and respond to emerging cyber threats.
  • Conduct real-world attack simulations to measure and improve security detection and response maturity.
  • Work closely with the Global Security Operations Centre (GSOC) to test and refine security monitoring, logging, and alerting capabilities.
  • Establish and maintain key metrics, including Detection, Response, and Threat Intelligence effectiveness indicators, to track improvements and communicate the effectiveness of security initiatives.
Who you are
  • Demonstrable experience leading Purple Team operations and driving improvements in security detection and response.
  • A strong background in Offensive Security.
  • Certifications such as OSCP, GXPN, GPEN, GCTI, or GCFA / OSCE (advantageous).
  • Deep understanding of MITRE ATT&CK framework and adversary simulation techniques.
  • Strong expertise in detection engineering, threat hunting, and adversary emulation methodologies.
