An opportunity has arisen for a Purchasing Team Lead to join our team supporting our Motorsport team in a rapidly expanding and exciting work environment.

About the Role

Leading a team of four, the Motorsport Purchasing Team Lead plays a critical role in dynamic and controlled delivery of a high-performing supply chain function, supporting the continued success of a world-class Formula E race team.

The role encompasses the full lifecycle of procurement activities related to the to the team’s vehicles and race

performance, ensuring continuity of supply, continuous improvement, innovation and cost control within the

constraints of a tightly regulated cost cap environment. This includes managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, and driving value across a constantly developing technical platform.

This is a leadership role requiring strategic thinking, a hands-on approach, and a deep understanding of motorsport dynamics. The successful candidate will be expected to build a culture of accountability, agility, and continuous improvement within the team, enabling the race team to compete at the highest level.

What You'll Do
  • Team Leadership : Lead a team of ~4 to ensure timely, quality, and budget-compliant delivery of parts for the Motorsport programmes
  • Support and Enforce Adherence to Series-Mandated Cost Cap : Ensuring all purchasing decisions align with financial controls and reporting obligations.
  • Oversee End-to-End Procurement Activities : Both for direct and indirect categories.
  • Supplier Relationship Management : Foster, develop and manage key supplier relationships in fulfilment of project deliverables.
  • Data Management : Maintain MRP Purchasing Master Data for assigned Motorsport project.
  • Monitor & Mitigate Supply Risks: including obsolescence, lead time volatility, and technical changes inherent to ongoing vehicle development.
  • Project Delivery : Deliver RFQ, sourcing, and DFX to Motorsport Projects.
  • KPI Development & Reporting : Support in the design, development and rollout of appropriate KPIs to monitor performance in line with prevailing project and business objectives.
  • ERP Operations : Use ERP systems to raise purchase orders
  • Invoice Resolution : Resolve invoice queries in line with KPI’s
About You
  • Education : Bachelor’s degree or higher in business, legal, commerce, supply chain management, engineering, or a related field desired.
  • Leadership Experience : Experience in leading a direct purchasing team.
  • Professional Experience : Experience in technical buying, quick turn procurement, expediting, and purchasing functions.
  • Technical Skills : Understanding of manufacturing processes and ERP system flow
  • Soft Skills : Excellent problem-solving, communication (written and verbal), negotiation, and influencing skills. Strong analytical abilities and attention to detail.
  • Personal Attributes : Ability to lead teams effectively, work independently and under pressure, and establish strong relationships
