We are assisting this company in recruiting a Purchasing Manager to oversee the purchasing functions at their busy manufacturing site.

This role requires a focus on strategic sourcing and planning, supplier and contract negotiations, supplier performance management, cost reduction projects, quality maintenance, and supporting CAPEX initiatives.

You will collaborate with suppliers across the UK, Europe, and globally, with occasional travel, and work closely with group companies to promote purchasing collaboration.

Key responsibilities include:

• Develop and lead strategic plans within the purchasing department
• Manage purchasing budgets and spend
• Vendor management, including negotiations, performance, and relationships
• Review and improve current vendor list
• Drive global purchasing collaboration across multiple sites
• Support cost reduction and CAPEX initiatives
• Travel overseas to visit suppliers and sites
• Coordinate with internal departments such as Production, Engineering, and Quality

Skills and experience required:

• Previous experience as a Purchasing Manager, Supervisor, or Senior role in manufacturing
• Strong negotiation and commercial skills
• Proven experience in cost reduction initiatives
• Vendor management expertise, including reviews and contracts
• CIPS qualification preferred
• Knowledge of procurement software
