Job Summary:

  • We are currently supporting a well-established timber business based at their site in East Yorkshire with their search for a Purchasing Manager.

Main Duties:

  • Take ownership of all timber and material purchasing to ensure stock availability aligns with customer demand and seasonal fluctuations.
  • Manage and monitor stock levels across the business, identifying replenishment needs while minimising excess inventory and waste.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, negotiating favourable terms, lead times and pricing.
  • Liaise daily with internal teams including sales, warehouse and operations to align purchasing decisions with business needs.
  • Staying up to date with industry trends and pricing movements.
  • Maintain accurate records of stock, orders, pricing and supplier performance.
  • Contribute to ongoing process improvements around purchasing, stock control, and supply chain efficiency.
