Job summary

Pertemps Bond is seeking an experienced Purchasing Manager to lead the company’s purchasing function, covering an annual spend of circa £12 million. The role is based on-site, with hours Monday to Friday 08:00–16:30, and offers a salary of £40,000–£45,000 depending on experience.

Qualifications

• CIPS qualification or equivalent procurement certification.
• Experience in a purchasing/ procurement role.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Proficient IT skills including MS Office and purchasing systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement purchasing strategy with Operations Director and senior management.
• Deliver monthly and annual objectives for procurement.
• Drive cost savings and build strong supplier relationships.
• Manage ordering levels, inventory, and reorder points.
• Lead and develop purchasing team to meet business needs.
• Maintain accurate purchasing records and cost data.
• Negotiate contracts for services and inputs.
• Contribute to new product development process.

Job Title: Purchasing Manager
Hours: Monday to Friday 08:00 – 16:30 – Office based
Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 (DOE)
Contract: Permanent
Location: Southport
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Purchasing Manager for a well-established client, who are a market leader within their sector with over 100 years of experience.
As a Purchasing Manager, you will provide a proactive and qualitive purchasing function of the organisation covering approximate £12 million spend per annum

As the Purchasing Manager your duties & responsibilities will be;

• Work closely with the Operations Director and Senior Management Team in the development and implementation of the Purchasing strategy.
• Actively deliver for the business monthly / annual objectives
• Maintain a strong business relationship and successfully influence cost savings within the company
• Identify appropriate order levels, place orders and monitor accuracy of reordered inventory shipments received
• Lead, direct, motivate and manage appropriate purchasing team activities to satisfy the business needs
• Maintain accurate purchasing stock and records of costs
• Negotiate contracts for services
• Provide appropriate input to the new products development process

The successful Purchasing Manager will have the following skills/experience;

• CIPS Qualified
• Previous experience within a similar role
• Excellent Communication skills, both written and verbal
• IT literate
• Ability to manage carious personal and team’s priorities at the same time
• Ability to manager and deliver own workload
• Experience managing international suppliers would be an advantage
