Purchasing Manager | £35,000 - £45,000 | Tunbridge Wells, Kent

My client is a leading manufacturer within their industry, known for high quality products that are built to last. They are currently hiring for a Purchasing Manager to join their Procurement and Logistics team.

This role will primarily focus on ensuring the smooth flow of goods and stock across the supply chain.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee team performance and daily procurement workflows
  • Negotiate with multiple freight forwarders to ensure best value and service
  • Maintain and review supplier buying schedules and forecasting tools
  • Coordinate overseas shipments, customs entries, and ensure
  • Manage stock valuation files, transit logs, and projected cost updates
  • Process tooling invoices and ensure accurate alignment with tax and reporting
  • Address supply issues, quality concerns, and drive resolution with suppliers
  • Contribute to ongoing process improvement across procurement and stock planning

Essential Skills:

  • 5+ years of experience in procurement, buying, or supply chain management
  • Strong working knowledge of UK import procedures, VAT/duty payments, and compliance
  • Demonstrated experience working with and negotiating multiple freight forwarders
  • Previous experience managing team members or mentoring junior staff
  • High proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP’s, IFERROR, etc.)
  • Confident using ERP systems (experience with NetSuite is a strong advantage)
