Purchasing Manager – Grantham - £45,000 - £50,000

Elevation Recruitment Group are working with a well-established engineering business in Grantham who are looking to recruit Purchasing Manager.

It’s a very exciting time to join as the business has recently undergone significant investment and transformation with expansion of product lines, modern fabrication machinery, upgraded facilities and a growing workforce.

The Role

As Purchasing Manager, you will take responsibility for the company’s procurement activities, overseeing a global supply chain. This key role will see you lead a small team and ensure the supply of materials, components and services to meet production needs.

Key Responsibilities include:
  • Developing and delivering procurement strategies aligned with business goals and cost targets
  • Managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts and ensuring best value on quality, cost and lead times
  • Overseeing purchase orders, supplier performance and compliance with standards and regulations
  • Collaborating with design, planning, quality and production teams to support new product introductions and meet demand forecasts
  • Analysing spend, identifying cost saving opportunities and mitigating supply chain risks
  • Producing reports and presenting procurement performance to senior management
The Person

We are looking for a Purchasing Manager with proven experience in manufacturing or engineering environments. You will be commercially minded, technically capable, and confident leading supplier negotiations.

Skills and experience required:
  • Experienced in procurement or purchasing within a heavy manufacturing/engineering environment
  • Strong technical understanding, with the ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications
  • Knowledge of ERP/MRP systems and RFQ processes
  • Excellent communication, organisation and problem-solving skills
  • Strong leadership qualities and a focus on continuous improvement
