Vacancy – Purchasing Manager
Our well-established client based in Yate area are seeking a Purchasing Manager to join their team. The individual will play a leading role in shaping the purchasing operations of the growing business and taking on managerial responsibilities.
Duties:
•Take responsibility for day-to-day procurement and raising of orders driven by sales activity (custom orders)
•Manage, run and develop existing procurement systems to ensure stock product availability (for non-custom orders)
•Innovate around the best way to buy from suppliers, twinning orders together or meeting certain volume requirements to gain the most competitive prices.
•Drive a decrease in stock turn days, by stocking as efficiently as possible
•Forecast supply and demand, taking a strategic approach to supplier selection
•Assist in developing new suppliers in European countries, with an emphasis on reducing dependency on far eastern suppliers.
•Supplier Quality Management – Ensuring NCRs are opened for internal and external non-conformance, take responsibility of bring these NCRs to satisfactory result ensuring supplier improvement or deselection.
•Reporting on supplier performance and reporting spend activities to Finance
•Obtaining price estimates for customised orders from suppliers where necessary
•Helping Ops/CS Manager assign workflow intelligently, take responsibility for team productivity and output reporting to Ops Manager.
The candidate:
•Experience of at least 3-4 years executing the purchasing of a £10m+ revenue business is highly desirable.
•Positive can-do attitude and work ethic.
•Reliable and diligent with a focus on producing timely accurate reporting.
•A good culture and team fit for the business with the attributes hungry, humble and smart
•5 years Purchasing experience (Preferred)
