Escape Recruitment is delighted to partner with a well-established and innovative manufacturer in their search for a Purchasing Manager. This is a newly created, strategic role offering the chance to lead a key function in a growing business.

Our client is looking for an experienced and driven Purchasing Manager to oversee both the Purchasing and Stores Teams, ensuring materials are delivered on time to meet production demands. This is an exciting opportunity to play a central role in the implementation of a new ERP system, working closely with the Finance Director to successfully lead its rollout across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop strong relationships with suppliers, negotiating pricing, delivery, and quality agreements

Ensure timely material availability by effectively managing supplier lead times and mitigating risks to production

Collaborate with Quality Engineers to monitor supplier performance and identify new supplier opportunities

Maintain optimal stock levels aligned with production requirements and budgetary goals

Drive continuous improvement across procurement and stores functions, introducing robust processes and procedures

Represent the function in cross-departmental production and project meetings

Lead, mentor, and develop team members, supporting their ongoing training and professional development

Skills & Experience Required:

Proven experience in a Purchasing or Procurement role within an Engineering or Manufacturing environment

Demonstrated success in leading, mentoring, and developing high-performing teams

Hands-on experience with ERP/MRP system implementation

Strong supplier management and negotiation skills

Analytical mindset with a data-driven approach to decision-making
