Job summary

Alexander Lloyd are partnering with a well-established business based in Crawley to recruit a Purchasing Assistant on a 12-month fixed-term contract to cover maternity leave.

The role focuses on inventory management, forecasting, supplier coordination and stock optimisation in a fast-paced environment. You will raise purchase orders, monitor deliveries and support new product launches.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in purchasing, inventory planning, or supply chain roles.
• Strong Excel skills, with Power BI experience advantageous.
• Experience working within a distribution, wholesale, or B2B environment.
• Organised, analytical, and comfortable managing multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Manage inventory levels to maximise stock availability and minimise shortages.
• Analyse sales trends and forecasts to support purchasing decisions.
• Raise purchase orders and manage supplier deliveries.
• Build strong relationships with suppliers and logistics partners.
• Support new product launches and lifecycle management activities.
• Monitor inbound shipments and proactively resolve supply chain issues.
