Job summary

Nissan Motor Corporation in Sunderland (NMUK) and Cranfield (NTCE) is recruiting graduates for its Purchasing team. You will work on Direct and Indirect Purchasing, engaging with suppliers and cross‑functional teams to deliver value from day one.

You will receive extensive training, mentorship and opportunities to travel within the UK and abroad, with clear paths into senior roles as you develop your purchasing and commercial skills.

Qualifications

• Strong analytical skills and data‑driven problem solving to enable sourcing and supplier decision making.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills for cross‑functional collaboration.
• Ability to manage multiple workstreams daily with proactive time management.
• Flexibility and adaptability to thrive in a fast‑paced automotive environment.
• Proficient in MS Excel and other MS Office applications.
• Willingness to travel and be geographically mobile.

Responsibilities

• Supplier Relationship Management: build and maintain key supplier relationships to ensure competitive costing for quality parts.
• Project & Cost Management: oversee day‑to‑day costs, analyse quotes, negotiate contracts and track expenditures.
• Cross‑Functional Collaboration: work with Design, Supply Chain, Finance and Engineering to ensure cost‑effective supply and quality.
• Data Analysis & Reporting: perform cost analyses and provide insights for decision making.
• Supplier Site Visits: visit supplier locations to assess operations and compliance with standards.
• Sourcing & Negotiation: source parts and services, negotiate terms to achieve best value for Nissan and customers.
• Training & Mentoring: participate in comprehensive training and development programmes to grow business and soft skills.
