Job summary

Journey recruitment in High Wycombe supports a manufacturing and engineering business seeking a Purchasing Coordinator. Reporting to the Group Purchasing & Supply Chain Manager, you will drive purchasing activities and help the function develop towards a future management position.

Hybrid role, Mon-Fri 8:45am-17:15pm, based at the High Wycombe office with occasional travel to Dorset. Salary up to GBP37.5K depending on experience plus bonus.

Qualifications

• 3+ years purchasing experience in manufacturing or engineering.
• Detailed experience with ERP/MRP systems is essential.
• Strong supplier management and negotiation skills.
• Excellent Excel skills and analytical ability.
• Excellent communication and organisational abilities.
• CIPS Level 4 or currently studying desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day purchasing activities.
• Manage purchase requisitions, purchase orders, supplier acknowledgements and expediting.
• Monitor supplier performance and resolve supply issues.
• Manage inventory availability while reducing excess and obsolete stock.
• Support ERP/MRP systems, including supplier data, lead times and planning parameters.
• Support sourcing, cost reduction and supplier negotiations.
• Work closely with Production, Engineering, Sales, Finance and Warehouse teams.
• Drive continuous improvement across purchasing processes.
• Deputise for the Purchasing Manager when required.
