Purchasing & Planning Controller – Sheffield – Competitive salary

Elevation Recruitment Group is working exclusively with a dynamic precision engineering business in Sheffield, seeking a Purchasing & Planning Controller for a 12-month contract.

As the Purchasing & Planning Controller, you will be the main contact for customers and suppliers, ensuring materials are available to meet business needs, managing risks, maintaining quality, and controlling inventory.

• 1pm finish every Friday!
• 25 days holiday + bank holidays + option to buy 5 extra days
• Death in service (4x salary)
• Xmas shutdown
• Pension

Hours: 8am – 4pm (Monday – Thursday) and 8am-1pm (Friday)

Required skills & experience:

• Experience in a technical environment such as precision engineering, aerospace, or automotive manufacturing
• MRP experience and strong Excel skills
• Ability to plan and manage material requirements to meet production schedules, ensuring resource readiness and inventory optimization
• Source materials according to ISO9001 and AS9100 standards, utilizing dual sourcing strategies
• Monitor supplier performance, address delivery issues, and mitigate supply chain risks
• Maintain accurate planning data within the MRP system and report on KPIs like OTIF, lead times, and inventory turns
• Drive continuous improvement and cost reduction through planning, negotiations, and process optimization
