Job summary

Nicholas Associates Group is seeking a Purchasing Assistant / Trainee Buyer in Essex. The role covers expediting, buying admin, and supplier coordination with hybrid working and flexitime. The package includes a salary of £27,000–£28,000 and requires strong Excel skills and attention to detail.

You will support inbound customs documentation, manage purchase orders, and collaborate with internal teams to meet delivery targets. Prior experience in a purchasing environment is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience in a commercial/purchasing/buying environment.
• Strong Excel skills including pivot tables and VLookUp.
• Good communication skills; close attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and maintain schedules for all purchase orders and suppliers.
• Expedite open purchase orders to meet delivery requirements.
• Raise purchase orders in line with demand and liaise with Sales for ad hoc expedites.
• Review inbound customs paperwork to ensure timely clearance of goods.
• Manage inbound queries and ensure timely receipt of products.
