Job description

Job Title: Purchasing Assistant

Onsite, Plymouth

Mission:

To provide operational level purchasing administration support to the Residential Controls Segment, including:

  • Direct parts purchasing
  • Indirect parts purchasing and management, including services and capital.
  • Supplier management

Key responsibilities:

  • Create and manage purchase orders.
  • Support the procurement/planning team to ensure the timing and accurate supply of purchased parts within the plant.
  • Assist and provide cover for the planning of manufacturing schedules.
  • Monitor stock levels and coordinate with logistics and warehouse teams.
  • Provide and support specification changes to materials and components as driven by any department/function within the plant.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation.
  • Provide operational support in the procurement and management of all indirect purchase areas including services and capital.

Skills and attributes:

  • Proven experience in a purchasing role within a volume manufacturing plant.
  • Good level of computer/ERP literacy including knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Firm understanding of cross-functional inter-dependencies (operations, finance, supply chain).
  • Strong analytical and communication skills.
  • Able to collaborate effectively with others to achieve objectives.

Education

  • Ideally working towards or CIPS qualified.
