About the Role

As a Purchasing Assistant at NOV, you will play a vital role within our dynamic Pumps Procurement team. This position is essential in ensuring the efficiency of our supply chain, contributing directly to our world-class operations in energy and industrial solutions. You will be responsible for the end-to-end procurement process, from issuing RFQs to managing vendor performance and supporting cross-functional collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review material, parts, and service requests and issue RFQs to approved suppliers
  • Analyse supplier quotes and negotiate to ensure optimal value in cost, quality, and delivery
  • Place purchase orders in compliance with company policies and ethical standards
  • Track and expedite orders to meet project and operational timelines
  • Support supplier qualification processes, audits, and performance evaluations
  • Collaborate with internal teams to forecast demand and secure timely procurement
  • Develop supplier KPIs and monitor cost-saving initiatives
  • Lead or assist in contract negotiations with procurement leadership
  • Leverage data to drive informed procurement decisions and improve outcomes

Required Profile

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelors degree plus 25 years of procurement experience OR 6+ years of relevant experience without a degree
  • APICS/MCIPS or Six Sigma Green Belt certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)
  • Experience in purchasing raw materials or machined parts is advantageous
  • Proficient in ERP systems, preferably JDE
  • Strong negotiation and vendor management skills
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documentation
  • Proficient in data analysis and Excel
  • Capable of managing multiple priorities and cross-functional tasks
  • High integrity with sound judgment and strategic mindset
