Job Title - Purchasing Assistant

Salary - GBP30000 - GBP33000

Location - Bedford

My Leading manufacturing client has an exciting role for a Purchasing Assistant to join an ever expanding team. The Purchasing Assistant supports the purchasing department in all procurement activities, ensuring the timely acquisition of goods and services while maintaining accurate records. This role involves liaising with suppliers, processing purchase orders, and managing inventory levels.

Key Duties (This is not an exhaustive list): (Day to day role)

Purchase Order Processing - Prepare and process purchase orders, verify purchase requisitions and issue orders to suppliers.

Supplier Coordination - Communicate with suppliers to obtain product or service information, such as price, availability, and delivery schedule, maintain positive relationships with suppliers and negotiate terms as needed.

Inventory Management - Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with the warehouse and other departments to ensure adequate stock levels, assist in inventory audits and reconciliation processes.

Administrative Support - Maintain accurate purchasing records, reports, and price lists, assist in the preparation of bid requests and procurement documentation.

Compliance and Reporting - Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies and procedures, generate and distribute regular reports on purchasing activities and supplier performance.

Job Competencies/Key Skills

The applicant must have competent Microsoft / Excel skills.

Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.

Be able to work under pressure and under their own initiative

Excellent communication skills

Able to absorb and assess information quickly
