Job Title: Purchasing Assistant

Location: Eye

Salary: £33000

Join our client’s team as a purchasing assistant, where you will play a crucial role in the supply chain management, ensuring the quality, cost, delivery, and inventory levels are effectively managed for the purchasing of all indirect goods. This position reports directly to the Procurement Manager

Responsibilities
  • Provide procurement and materials management support to teams.
  • Build and maintain relationships with suppliers.
  • Drive improvements with suppliers to meet company goals.
  • Manage the approved supplier database and find alternative suppliers when needed.
  • Support the development of purchasing processes in the ERP system.
  • Create stock control systems to ensure adequate inventory at low cost.
  • Resolve quality issues and negotiate with suppliers for timely deliveries.
  • Assist the Sales team with customer quotations and collaborate across departments.
  • Help with purchasing direct goods when necessary.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience in procurement, especially for indirect goods and services.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems for purchasing and inventory.
  • Good communication and strong administrative skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Ideally CIPS level 4 qualified or equivalent experience.
