Job description

Are you an experienced administrator looking for a new challenge? If you’re organised, proactive, and ready to develop specialist skills, this could be your ideal next move.

We’re recruiting a Purchasing Assistant to join a well-established and supportive procurement team within a successful manufacturing business. This is a genuine opportunity to move from a general admin role into a career path with long-term potential no previous purchasing experience required, in fact what we need is someone with good old fashioned administrative skills who can work as part of a busy team taking on a variety of admin tasks.

Why This Role Stands Out

  • A clear route from administration into a potentially specialist purchasing career

  • Full training and support from experienced colleagues

  • Friendly and stable team in a growing business

  • Monday to Friday hours

  • Real potential to grow into a Buyer role over time

What You'll Be Doing

  • Raising and managing purchase orders

  • Liaising with suppliers on lead times, availability, and pricing

  • Ensuring stock and materials are ordered in line with project schedules

  • Following up on deliveries and resolving any discrepancies

  • Supporting procurement with general admin and system updates

What We’re Looking For

  • Previous experience in an administrative or coordinator role

  • Ideally from a manufacturing, construction, or commercial background

  • Comfortable using systems, Excel, and email

  • Confident working with numbers and managing deadlines

  • A proactive, can-do approach and a willingness to learn

  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems is a bonus, but not essential
