Purchaser
Chichester Full-time, office-based Circa GBP35,000

Futures Recruitment are proud to be working on behalf of a well-established, family-run manufacturing business known for their precision, quality, and innovation.

We're on the lookout for a detail-oriented and proactive Purchaser to join their close-knit team. In this role, you ll take the reins on procurement and stock control, playing a key part in keeping production flowing smoothly, suppliers accountable, and operations cost-effective.

This is far more than just placing orders. You'll be at the heart of the action, forecasting stock needs, negotiating with suppliers, and streamlining processes to help the business operate lean and efficiently.

What you ll be doing:

Stock & Inventory Management

  • Manage a lean, just-in-time stock process
  • Use the stock control system to plan timely purchase orders
  • Forecast usage with the Production Planner and MD to avoid shortages on long lead items

Purchasing

  • Raise and manage POs for stock, office supplies, and one-off items
  • Own delivery timelines and ensure items arrive in full, on spec, and on time
  • Update internal systems and coordinate with Warehouse & Shipping on goods-in
  • Provide monthly PO updates for management visibility
  • Continuously seek cost-saving opportunities and negotiate with suppliers

Supplier Management & Non-Conformities

  • Log and follow up on supplier non-conformities
  • Request credits or replacements where needed
  • Monitor supplier performance: quality, price, and punctuality

Data & System Management

  • Keep supplier records accurate and up to date
  • Work with the Technical team to ensure consistency in part numbers and descriptions
