Job summary

Michael Page is seeking a proactive Purchase Ledger specialist to own end-to-end AP processes in a busy, manufacturing-focused environment in Wrexham. You will manage high volumes of invoices, match against POs, and ensure timely payments while maintaining ledger integrity.

You will collaborate with procurement, operations and logistics, driving continuous improvement and delivering accurate reporting. Hybrid working is available after training, with a permanent position in the FMCG sector.

Qualifications

• Experience in Purchase Ledger or Accounts Payable.
• Experience in a high-volume transactional finance environment.
• Experience of OCR processes.
• Knowledge of the full procure-to-pay cycle.
• Strong reconciliation and query-resolution skills.
• Experience using ERP or integrated finance systems.
• Good Excel skills and confidence working with finance data.
• Excellent organisational skills and a positive, team-focused attitude.

Responsibilities

• Process high volumes of supplier invoices accurately and efficiently.
• Match invoices against purchase orders and goods received notes using integrated systems.
• Maintain accurate supplier accounts, allocate payments and credit notes.
• Prepare and process supplier payment runs in line with agreed terms.
• Investigate and resolve invoice and payment queries promptly.
• Build positive relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Complete regular supplier statement reconciliations and identify discrepancies.
• Assist with month-end close activities and reporting requirements.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives within the accounts payable function.
