Purchase Ledger Clerk
£13.39 per hour
Temporary role (maternity cover)

The Role
Purchase Ledger Clerk required to work in a small friendly team on a temporary basis covering maternity leave.

Responsibilities of the Purchase Ledger Clerk

  • Maintain the company's purchase ledger.
  • Matching purchase invoices to relevant stock purchase orders on the system.
  • Process purchase invoices and credit notes with correct nominal codes.
  • Handle purchase invoice queries - consulting with suppliers via phone/email.
  • Check supplier statements, cross-referencing with internal systems.
  • Reconcile cashbooks to bank statements and investigate any differences.
  • Complete supplier account forms.
  • Add new suppliers onto the system.
  • Calculate VAT payments and ensure VAT is allocated correctly from invoice input.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly pay runs in GBP, EUR & USD.
  • Manage the accounts email inbox.
  • Perform general office duties to support the team.


The Candidate
The successfully appointed Purchase Ledger Clerk will have the following skills and abilities:

  • Background working within a purchase ledger role.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent IT skills and the ability to use Sage 200.
