Purchase Ledger Clerk - Fixed-term Contract

A business near Scarborough is recruiting a Purchase Ledger Clerk on a fixed-term contract until December 2025. This role offers an excellent opportunity to join an established Finance Team with a great culture and benefits, including a salary up to £29,000 (dependent on experience), 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, modern offices, and hybrid working (2 days from home, 3 days in the office).

While this is not a traditional temp-to-perm role, there may be opportunities for permanent employment in the future.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supporting accounts payable processing and wider finance duties
  • Processing invoices and credit notes, assisting with payment runs
  • Daily processing of supplier invoices and payments
  • Dealing with supplier queries and correspondence
  • Ledger reconciliation and reporting
  • Collaborating with the team to meet departmental objectives
  • Performing ad hoc duties as directed by the Financial Controller
Candidate Requirements
  • Experience with accountancy software such as Sage, QuickBooks, or Xero, and MS Excel
  • Experience in AP processing, management accounts, fixed assets, and VAT
  • Experience working in a finance team implementing new software/processes (advantageous but not essential)
  • Studying or AAT qualified, or equivalent experience

This role is ideal for someone with some relevant experience or studying towards AAT. Suitable candidates may include Finance Assistants, Accounts Assistants, Assistant Accountants, Purchase Ledger Clerks, Accounts Payable Clerks, Sales Ledger Clerks, Accounts Receivable Clerks, or Finance Officers seeking a new challenge.

Based in Scarborough, the role is accessible from Bridlington, Filey, Hummanby, Whitby, Malton, Pickering, and surrounding areas, with onsite parking available.
