Job description

A well-established business based in Hull is currently on the lookout for a Purchase Ledger Clerk to join their finance team on a permanent basis. A salary of up £26,000 is on offer, as well as an extensive benefits package inclusive of; bonus scheme, employee discount, training opportunities and enhanced maternity/paternity pay.

As a Purchase Ledger Clerk, you will be responsible for:

• Processing a high volume of supplier invoices accurately and efficiently
  
  
• Matching, batching, and coding invoices to the appropriate purchase orders
  
  
• Reconciling supplier statements and resolving any discrepancies
  
  
• Preparing and processing payment runs
  
  
• Maintaining accurate records and ensuring all data is up to date
  
  
• Liaising with internal departments and external suppliers to handle queries
  
  
• Supporting month-end processes where required
  
  

To be successful in this Purchase Ledger role, you will ideally have:

• Previous experience in a high-volume purchase ledger or accounts payable environment
  
  
• Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to tasks
  
  
• Good working knowledge of accounting systems and Excel
  
  
• Excellent communication skills for dealing with suppliers and colleagues
  
  
• The ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines
