Job description

As a Purchase Ledger Assistant you'll play a crucial role in ensuring financial records are accurate, up-to-date, and compliant.

Reporting to the Finance Manager, you'll handle key accounts payable tasks, support month-end processes, and liaise with multiple departments to ensure financial accuracy across the board.

Job Title: Purchase Ledger Assistant

Salary: £28,000 - £ 30,000

Location: Reading, easy to get to on public transport

Responsibilities:

Maintain accurate and timely financial records
Process supplier and subcontractor invoices, ensuring timely payments
Liaise with procurement to manage invoice approvals
Perform monthly supplier statement reconciliations
Assist in preparing payment run files and support bank uploads
Handle supplier queries and support month-end close
Monitor and manage overhead expenses against budget
Review and validate employee expense submissions
Maintain finance documentation for audit and compliance purposes
Provide general admin support, including travel bookings and vehicle servicing arrangements

Skills and Experience:
