Parkhead Primary School and ELC is a non-denominational school within West Calder. Our staff team is fully committed to working together collegiately as part of the West Calder learning community.

We are seeking a Pupil Support Worker based in our Nursery Class who will demonstrate commitment to our visions and values and is motivated to work as part of our team to support positive outcomes for all of our children, developing a high quality learning environment which promotes challenge, curiosity and creativity.

The school comprises of 15 classes and our present role of nursery pupils is 71 across 3 Nursery sessions, AM and PM or an option for full day placement. In the ELC we have an Early Years Officer, 6 full time EYPs, 2 part time EYPs and 3 PSWs. The leadership team includes a Head teacher, Depute Head teacher, Principal Teacher and ELC Area Support Manager.

This is a 19 hour, 52.14 week, fixed term maternity cover contract in our ELC setting. Please note working pattern will be Monday - Thursday between the hours 7.45am - 12.30pm including during school holidays where our ELC setting will remain open.

This position requires full registration with the Scottish Social Services Council as a support work and candidates will require to work towards a relevant qualification.

This position requires registration with the SSSC. The successful candidate will have six months from the date of commencement of this post to become registered with the SSSC. SSSC stipulate you must submit your application within three months of your start date. If you are already registered with SSSC you will be required to add West Lothian Council to your account

This post is considered Regulated Work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scotland Act 2007. From 28 February 2011 preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by West Lothian Council
