Salary: £25,322 - £27,727 (pro-rata for part-time and sessional)
Hours: 27.5 per week, 39 weeks sessional
Liberton High School is a non-denominational secondary school with a roll of approximately 900 pupils, working in partnership with our associated primaries of Craigour Park, Gilmerton, Liberton, and Prestonfield to serve our local community in South East Edinburgh. We have a rising roll projected to peak at approximately 1100 within the next four years. We are moving into a new, purpose-built Community Campus, due to be completed in Spring 2026.
The leadership team includes the Head Teacher, three Depute Head Teachers, and a Business Manager. Our staff comprises 65 teachers and 26 support staff. Our dedicated staff are committed to supporting our young people to achieve their potential.
We are seeking to recruit a Pupil Support Worker to work alongside our support for learning teacher within our enhanced support provision. The ideal candidate will have experience working with pupils with additional support needs. The role involves supporting pupils in wider classes across the school and delivering learning supports within our enhanced support hub.
This position involves regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The successful candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. If the candidate has spent three or more continuous months outside the UK in the last five years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. Employment is contingent upon satisfactory completion of these checks.
