Job Title: Pupil Support Worker

Location: Portsmouth

Start Date: Immediate Start

Salary: GBP85 - GBP120 per day

Teacher Active is proud to be working with a SEN school in Portsmouth, supporting with their recruitment for a Pupil Support Worker. This setting supports children with varied diagnosis through 1:1 tutoring and alternative learning provisions. Upholding a high standard of education, there is emphasis placed on the important provision of social, emotional, physical and mental health-centred programmes that help students to thrive and reach their full potential. We are looking for a dedicated Pupil Support Worker who can make a positive and lasting impact in the lives of individuals with Autism/ASD, ADHD, Moderate Learning Difficulties/MLD and Severe Learning Difficulties/SLD.

We are seeking an organised and proactive individual to take on this day-to-day role, although there is potential for this to become a long-term placement for the right Pupil Support Worker. Every day is different, filled with the opportunity to learn and grow. The successful candidate will bring a big smile, new perspective and skill set to this role. They will demonstrate an eagerness to develop their own skills to adapt to the pupils individual needs and have a positive impact on the school.

The position will involve working with students with diagnosis of Autism / ASD, ADHD, and MLD / Moderate Learning Difficulties and Severe Learning Difficulties/SLD. A proactive thinker with great organisation and the ability to take control of situations confidently is necessary.

The successful Pupil Support Worker will ideally have:

  • Experience working with children with additional needs / disabilities
  • Experience working with students with Social Emotional Mental Health (SEMH) and challenging behaviours
  • Level 2 or 3 CACHE or equivalent
  • Team-Teach or MAPA qualifications desirable
