Job summary

Scottish Borders Council is seeking a Pupil Support Assistant for Selkirk High School to work closely with teaching staff and support learners.

The role involves assisting with written tasks, IT, resource preparation, monitoring learner progress, and liaising with the Pupil Support Team. No formal qualifications are required, with on-the-job training available. Term-time, permanent contract.

Qualifications

• No formal qualifications are required, but an acceptable standard of school education is desirable.
• Pupil Support Assistants will be required to undertake on the job training as and when available.

Responsibilities

• Feeding and medication (after training)
• To undertake support for individuals or groups as directed.
• To assist in the implementation of plans as required.
• To monitor on an informal basis the progress of our learners.
• To contribute to reports about our learners for discussion at review and planning meetings.
• To liaise with the Pupil Support Team, SLT and other agencies as required
