Job summary

Fife Council is seeking a committed Pupil Support Assistant (2) to help improve life chances for children and young people, working under a teacher or senior staff member to support those with additional needs.

You will assist individually, in groups, and in class, help implement plans, supervise medication, and support mobility and personal care as required. PVG checks and SSSC registration are expected within stated timeframes.

Qualifications

• Good interpersonal skills and ability to work as a team to ensure positive outcomes for children and young people.
• Ability to register with SSSC within 6 months of taking up employment in this role.
• PVG scheme membership and SSSC registration process required.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils/children individually or in class or small groups in identified areas of learning and personal development.
• Contribute information to update planning and review process for individual pupils/children.
• Supervise pupil/child self-administration of medication and provide high level personal care.
• Carry out support programmes designed by visiting specialists (e.g., speech and language, physiotherapy, occupational therapy).
• Support pupil/child mobility for short-term needs and emergencies.
