Job summary

Frogston Primary School in Edinburgh is seeking two Pupil Support Assistants on a fixed-term basis until 29 June 2027. Salary £26,806–£27,032 per year (pro rata for part-time and sessional), with 25 hours per week across 39 weeks.

The successful applicants will support pupils with additional support needs to access education and assist in day-to-day school operations under the Pupil Support Team leadership.

Frogston Primary School is seeking two kind, empathetic and resilient Pupil Support Assistants to join our talented Pupil Support Team.

The successful candidates will work collaboratively as a member of a team. They will support pupils with additional support needs to access education and have their care and wellbeing needs met. They will be flexible and provide support and assistance in the day-to-day operation of the school, as directed by the school leadership team. The support needs of children or young people may include social, emotional and behavioural needs requiring provision of support for dysregulated behaviour.

This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. Anunconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
