Job summary

Cramond Primary School in Edinburgh is seeking a diligent Pupil Support Assistant to work 27.5 hours per week during 39 weeks term. The role involves supporting pupils with additional needs, providing care and helping with day-to-day activities in a school setting.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with additional support needs to access education and have their care and wellbeing needs met.
• Work 1-1 and assist pupils with ASNs to organise their day and follow instructions.
• Provide personal care to children with additional support needs (toileting, dressing) while promoting independence.
• Administer medication and complete related paperwork per training procedures.
• Assist in learning activities including reading interventions and group learning.
• Support the development of positive relationships and emotional wellbeing using evidence-based approaches.
• Work within health, safety and welfare procedures and follow safeguarding requirements.
• Participate in professional development and training as deemed appropriate.
