Job summary

The City of Edinburgh Council is recruiting a Pupil Support Assistant at Clovenstone Primary School in Edinburgh on a fixed-term basis until 29 June 2027. The role supports pupils and helps create a caring, inclusive environment during 25 hours per week across 39 weeks.

Applicants should have experience working with children, be able to build positive relationships, and be prepared for PVG checks as part of safeguarding responsibilities.

Job description

Pupil Support Assistant– Fixed Term to 29th June 2027.

Salary: £26,806 – £27,302 (pro-rata for part time and sessional)
Hours: 25 per week, 39 weeks sessional

Working pattern: Monday to Friday

Clovenstone Primary School have an exciting opportunity to join their team as a Pupil Support Assistant on a fixed term basis until 29th June 2027.

The successful candidate will have experience working with children and young people, will have the ability to establish positive relationships with children and foster a nurturing approach.

This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. An unconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre‑employment checks being deemed satisfactory.

Our salary range typically reflects the initial starting salary and annually increases until it reaches the top of the range.
