Job summary

Aberdeenshire Council seeks a school support assistant to help teachers raise pupil attainment and support wellbeing and safety across classes from P1 to S6. The role requires flexibility in location within the Banff cluster and a commitment to improving service quality.

You will be based in Banff CSN with potential moves within the cluster, and work Monday to Friday. There is a focus on safeguarding (PVG scheme) and reference checks, with formal inquiries handled through the HR team.

There is a requirement to be flexible in school location within the cluster, according to individual circumstances and work with a range of pupils from P1 - S6.

There is a responsibility for the post holder to demonstrate a commitment to quality service delivery through continuous improvement for the benefit of the Service and the organisation.

Initially you will be based in the location advertised, but you may be required to work elsewhere within the Banff CSN.

Requirements

This post is regulated work with Children and/or Protected Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. A confirmed offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
