Are you a press officer looking for your next opportunity to work in book PR? Carver PR are looking for a publicist to join their new and thriving books division. The role will be responsible for delivering high impact PR campaigns for a variety of clients, across non-fiction and fiction.

Key responsibilities:

  • Independently plan and implement campaigns that deliver on all available PR opportunities, covering traditional and non-traditional media, and including print, broadcast, online and events
  • Work closely with clients, maintaining communication throughout campaigns and provide a high level of author and agent care at all times
  • Develop and maintain relationships with journalists and producers
  • Respond to journalist requests efficiently
  • Showcase keen knowledge of the book industry
  • Communicate and work collaboratively with colleagues in the Carver PR office
  • Occasionally attend and manage events
  • Accompany clients to media appearances
  • Maintain high standards of presentation and attention to details
  • From time to time attend new business meetings with Head of Books

Person specification:

  • An in-depth knowledge of the UK books landscape
  • Great contacts with journalists and producers
  • Copywriting and pitching skills
  • 3+ years’ publicity experience, preferably with demonstrable non-fiction experience
  • Resilient and confident in managing multiple projects, prioritising time effectively
