Job summary

MidKent College is seeking a Public Service Lecturer to coordinate the delivery of designated study programmes across Cross College (Maidstone & Gillingham). You will teach to high standards, manage day-to-day operations, and support exam invigilation and registration as required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality teaching in line with College and awarding body standards.
• Plan and prepare lessons and schemes of work, assess student progress, provide feedback, maintain accurate records and ensure a safe, inclusive learning environment.
• Assist with recruitment, selection and enrolment of students, ensuring correct course placement and transfers.
• Provide 1-1 support to individual students, provide UCAS and pastoral support and liaise with support services.
• Monitor attendance, progress and achievement; complete registers and track student performance.
• Promote and support English and Maths provision within lessons and targeted support.
• Attend staff meetings, parents' evenings, marketing events and internal/external meetings as required.
• Work with colleagues to develop curriculum content and teaching strategies; engage in CPD and mentoring of new lecturers.
• Complete course-related admin, including register keeping, updating ProMonitor, and maintaining resources on the College’s VLE.
• Lead on internal verification and standardisation; monitor SAR and quality improvement actions.
