Job summary

Adecco is recruiting an IS Programme Manager to lead IT and business application projects for Merseyside Police, located at Police HQ, Liverpool. The role is part-time (22 hours weekly) with an hourly rate of £28.74 and a contract end date in April 2027.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years delivering IT projects, strong stakeholder management, and formal PM qualifications. Expect responsibility for budgets, plans and third‑party coordination in a public sector context.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five years' experience delivering IT systems implementations or similar technology projects.
• At least three years' experience leading complex or multiple concurrent projects.
• Experience managing external suppliers and third-party delivery partners.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage multiple IT and business application projects from inception to completion.
• Engage with stakeholders to translate requirements into technology solutions.
• Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, budgets, and timelines.
• Develop and maintain project plans to ensure delivery against targets.
• Coordinate internal resources and third‑party suppliers to achieve outcomes.
• Monitor risks, dependencies, and issues with corrective actions as needed.
• Manage governance, reporting and documentation in line with policies.
• Facilitate workshops and meetings to drive progress and consensus.
• Negotiate change requests balancing business needs with cost and risk.
• Provide regular updates to senior stakeholders on status, risks and benefits.
