Job summary

Civic Recruitment Limited is seeking a Finance/Performance Analyst to support financial planning, performance reporting and governance processes within a local authority environment. The role delivers high-quality analysis and information to senior officers and governance groups, helping informed decision-making and strong financial control.

You will produce quarterly reports, manage data quality, coordinate budget monitoring and forecast activity, and translate complex data into clear insights

Qualifications

• Experience in finance, performance, planning or business management within local authority or public sector.
• Experience producing high-quality reports, presentations and briefing papers for senior officers and governance groups.
• Strong analytical skills to interpret financial and performance information and communicate findings clearly.
• Experience supporting budget monitoring, forecasting, financial planning or transformation governance.
• Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, ability to present complex information clearly.
• Strong stakeholder management and ability to collaborate across service areas.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and produce quarterly performance management reports and monthly monitoring packs with clear narrative and insights.
• Maintain data quality, consistency and integrity across finance, performance and workforce reporting.
• Prepare reports, presentations and briefing papers for senior leadership, boards and governance groups.
• Translate complex information into clear insights for senior officers and elected Members.
• Support monitoring of transformation expenditure against budgets, forecasts and business cases.
• Coordinate the annual fees and charges review process across service areas.
• Manage and reconcile financial control totals across planning, budgeting and reporting.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and finance planning with trend analysis.
• Contribute to governance processes to ensure reporting is monitored and reported.
• Collaborate with finance, performance and service colleagues to resolve data issues.
• Prepare information for senior management and governance meetings with clear actions and risks.
