West Midlands Combined Authority is hiring a Contract and Compliance Officer to safeguard the quality and value of our commissioned services in the WMCA region. You will monitor performance, support adherence to legislation, and work with providers to drive improvements and ensure public money is spent wisely.

The role requires experience in contract management, compliance, and data reporting, with the ability to translate complex rules into practical guidance for colleagues and partners across

Qualifications

• Experience of managing contracts and ensuring compliance with governing body or public sector standards and regulations.
• Experience of developing and delivering SMART action plans and monitoring progress.
• Experience working effectively in partnership with other organisations and agencies.
• Experience collating a range of data and information and presenting it clearly and concisely.
• Knowledge of relevant legislative frameworks, including PCR2015 and PA2023.

Responsibilities

• Monitor contract performance and compliance across WMCA.
• Provide advice and guidance to ensure commissioned services meet required quality standards.
• Support Contract Managers to manage complex contract situations, including potential suspension or termination.
• Produce reports on monitoring activity and present outcomes.
• Support action where a service is not achieving expected standards, including deep dives and audit feedback.
